Tonight...for the first time ever I responded to a persona ad on craigslist....here:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/w4m/734066573.html
Now usually I search Craiglist for car prices or show gigs and auditions...but this personal ad caught my eye...and it seemed real so I responded...when I came back online, I already got a response, sweet!!!
The e-mail read as follows:
Hi there, Thanks for responding to my post! Sorry this took so long to reply. My internet has been up and down :( Anyways, I've been looking for a nice guy for sometime and just can't seem to find one... Maybe you could be right for me! I'm at work right now and they montior my email here so if you could just go to my profile we can chat on there. (it's free don't worry) When you signup search for me. My id is summerjazz69 ;-). See you later! =
So of course, the post was a fake. summerjazz69 is actually 28 and in New York, not 23 and in Mountain View like listed on craigslist....and why the fuck is it that whatever responded to my e-mail couldn't even sign the e-mail with a complete smiley face, BUT just the EYES?!!?
People warned me about craigslist.....I shoulda known. Tags: comedy, craigslist, love, personal ad, relationships

Hi there. The last stand-up comedy night at El Patron Restaurant/Bar will be this Movnday, June 9th. We had a good run, but the business was sold to a different owner and must come to an end. I am working on getting a new location in the South Bay to set up stand-up comedy nights for comedians to work on new material as well as refine classics....
In addition to El Patron on Monday, I will be at Mission Pizza in Fremont on Thursday the 12th.
My comedian buddy Grant Lyon put together a music video based on one of his jokes. Check it out:

I promised you an update and now here it is....
On Saturday, March 1st, I went to Stockton, CA to feature in a comedy show at a place called the Matinee. The show itself is called Laugh Track Live. I had not planned on driving there myself. I thought my mom and dad would come along because my Uncles were coming to the show and I thought that they would all want to visit with each other. I was wrong, so instead of prepping for my set during the car trip, I had to pay attention to the road. I got there exactly at 7pm so it worked out ok. I had an hour before the show started to jot down what I wanted to use in my set, even bringing back some jokes I hadn't used in a long time. I also talked with the headliner, Jason Downs, for a little while before the show got underway. We waited in the weirdest of rooms before the show started. It was upstairs, like way upstairs, and there was a table. It was almost like an interrogation room. Then the booker of the show brought us a pizza. Cool. He did not bring us plates. Haha. I had no problem with it, the pizza was still tasty regardless, just a little messier.
The stage set-up itself was pretty nice with a good intimate type crowd setting. The age of the audience ranged from people ages 21 to probably like 70. I tried to cater a little something to all of them. I felt I really worked with the audience well, and I felt really comfortable on stage. In fact, the past month or so I have felt even more like I am coming into my own. I handed out some stickers after the show (those who have one, know which stickers I'm talking about), and people laughed just at those. A couple people from the audience even added me on MySpace shortly after. I got paid 100 dollars for the gig which was more than I expected to get, so I walked out of the show a very happy and accomplished comedian. I was so happy that I drove all the way home and then met my buddy, Bryan, and some of his friends in Campbell for some drinks. Before I left Stockton though, they took a picture of all the comedians with the old film projector. (The show is actually in an old movie-type theatre)

This was the flier for the show...my last name is spelled wrong, but whatever. Still cool.
So coming off my 30-minute feature set in Stockton on Saturday, last night, March 5th, was the 6th Annual Rooster T. Feathers competition. It was my night for the preliminary round. 14 comedians performed total in the preliminary round last night, and only 4 move on the the next round. Each comedian got 5 minutes of time. That was not an easy task for me last night, going from 30 minutes to 5 minutes and trying to choose which jokes to do. I guess I chose well enough though as I advanced to the next round of the competition. The next round is going to be on May 7th, so mark your calendars and hopefully I will see you there!
A lot of people from work showed up for the competition, including Colin, Kassandra, Michele, and Terry. And all of them except Colin brought along friend too. It was very cool to see them all there.
So there's the update on my last two shows.
OH, direct your livejournal friends to me, please. Oh, and to comment, you need to register and it is free. THANKS!

I may have developed a whole new routine tonight after the show in Morgan Hill at the Morgan Hill Playhouse. It was a great lineup and a great crowd. The comedians were myself as host, Brian Salwasser, Mike Betancourt, and headliner Mickey Joseph. Afterwards, Brian and I were hungry so we said "Let's go to the fine establishment, Denny's." Brian had his girlfriend with him, so not to be out-done, I invited my sister and mom along. Haha. Mistake. My sister is usually annoying when she has too much to drink, but my mom took it to a whole nother (nother isn't in the dictionary but who cares) level. She asked me questions repeated times....the funniest thing she said was about my car. Now, I am in my twenties and a male, so my car isn't the cleanest...expected, right? She's hiccupping nonstop in the backseat saying "your car looks like a homeless person's car" and I responded, "well, you sound like a homeless person." She was too buzzed to hear me, but my sister laughed at my response. We get to Denny's and see that headliner Mickey Joseph and his daughter are also at this fine establishment. Mickey was seeling his autobiography after the show but sold out and my mom wanted to go over to where he was siiting and tell him she wanted a book. I'm like "I'll just e-mail him." BUT she does not let the subject go. So we walk over there, and I'm like "sorry to intrude" then my mother is like "I wanted a book." LOL He told he'd send one to her free though, so that made her night. Then we ate and the she hiccupped all the way home. Repeating everything she said in the car the first time. I usually don't joke about my family....now, I may reconsider.
